These images are the final images for my preliminary task, which was based around a college magazine. I used a orange and blue colour scheme to suit the main colours of East Norfolk Sixth form college. I used 'old school' typography in a variety of ways to create a varsity, college feel. Which are normally found on sports jerseys. I used the same colour scheme throughout the magazine, to create a professional approach towards the reader and audience.

For the front cover of this college magazine, I used one main image. This image portrays a typical happy student, which will help attract the audience. I edited the image roughly, so the image stood out towards the audience in colour, as well as in the eye contact. The eye contact focuses directly towards the target audience, to attract the audience. I used the logo of East Norflk Sixth Form College; to tell the students who this magazine was specifically made by and aimed for, to indicate what it is full of and what they would see as fun and helpful. I chose to call this magazine 'Grade'. This is simply because grades are something you achieve, so therefore I felt it was appropriate to use. It also shows that this magazine could be helpful to achieve your 'grade' in a variety of ways.
The subheadings on the title page, consist of what would be found in the magazine. I chose the following contents by asking a number of students what they would want to be found in a magazine in order for them to purchase and read the product. To make the product come across professional, I used a barcode, as most magazines have these; again with a professional outcome.
I have stated on the front cover, that the first issue is free. This is because once I gathered the information of my questionnaire, I found that most students wanted to see what type of contents they were going to be purchasing. Therefore allowing them to see if it is worth purchasing. I have also stated that the issues of this magazine would be found monthly, as this is what a large number of the audience preferred.

The contents page is again, finished; with the same colour scheme and theme throughout. I have used one small image of another happy student. To once again attract the audience to this magazine. The contents page is full of the content that is found in the magazine. I chose this content with the help from my questionnaire the students took part in.
To give a professional approach in a different direction, I have placed my signature, to show the audience, who was the editor of this magazine. This shows the audience it is a reliable and a professional source.
Although I have made my magazine professional in a variety of ways, There are a few problems. These consist of the following: The contents page is far to busy, and unclear to read; with the layers of text surrounding eachother. this doesn't indicate clearly to the reader which pages are what. Which may affect the products future reputation.
The front covers image has far to much contrast added to it. Although it helps this image stand out, it does it in a bad way. This creates a yellow image which doesn't suit the coloured scheme very well and also makes the magazine look unprofessional.
